Investment Criteria

The core of our evaluation and due diligence into any company is to understand the fundamentals of that business, its context and its inherent opportunities and risks in achieving long-term growth and profitability. Any potential acquisition will be evaluated against four criteria:

  • Industry
  • Company Characteristics
  • Financial Fundamentals
  • Situational Circumstances

Industry

The business is in a non-cyclical, recession-resistant industry with high barriers to competition and identifiable market tailwinds

Financial Fundamentals

Annual revenues between $3 and $10 million with EBITDA over $1 million and a history of strong and predictable cash flows from a recurring customer base

Unique Situation

Owner seeking liquidity and ownership transition with experienced management planning to stay onboard

Our Values

Our success is the result of continued and consistent alignment to our values. Everything is harder when members of a team believe different things about what’s important to them as a team. Our values are a record of what we believe is important, as a team.

Honesty

We are real individuals who are down to earth and without pretense. We share our thoughts openly and strive to create meaningful work and relationships through our honesty.

Gratitude

We are aware of the good things that happen and have happened to us and we never take them for granted. We take the time to express our thanks to those who help us.

Love of learning

We love learning new things and find genuine joy in finding out new facts and making original connections. We seek out opportunities to challenge our ideas and logic.

Fairness

We do not split hairs. We strive to treat everyone as we would wish to be treated: as a close friend or family. We are reasonable about what we say yes and no to.

Action

We are solution-oriented businesspeople who emphasize action over hand-wringing. When we have carefully thought out a course of action, we do not hesitate.

Consistent Improvement

We believe strongly in the power of compounding and know that our success is only possible through small, ongoing positive changes that reap significant improvements.
